        • timely notification means less downtime
        • We don't know how it happened as no one informed us it was broken. It is important to contact thespace so we can get it fixed in a timely fashion and identify issues.
      • Laser
        • laser tube broke
          • most likely due to heat/cooling issue, tubing at the back of the laser was kinked
          • motion - replace tube and upgrade laser cutter controller/software and add additional fail-safes since it is down anyway
            • Multiple options were considered. Middle road ERF 130W 10,000w tube has been selected.
            • New controller has been selected, Ruida 6442g . Modern interface that accepts gcode and has better protections. Also comes with free software that anyone can use without a dongle.
            • With new controller can use new software options. We are wanting to get Lightburn. Totally non Chinese developed. Can also install a Camera in the laser to use with the software for some neat features and origin locating.

            • $2400 CAD with GST estimated total cost for the above.
