New business
mentor-ship program - volunteers
Started this when we are grey ave but never followed through with it
A mentor would be someone who is willing to help new members get used to Techworks, let them into the space, help with projects and show how to use the equipment
Roger, James offered to mentor
Sheila offered to video people explaining how to use equipment
Al added there is a fair amount of responsibility expected as a member but if the mentor is unavailable and of the active members can be contacted.
Kurtis had an idea for a wall with people but it has already been started
cleaning service
Scott with talking to protospace has a cleaning service that comes in and clean the not obvious areas to be cleaned as well as the bathrooms
Al proposes that we hire Rachel (as a cleaning service) to clean the space (she already has been and there has been positive feedback on the space being unusually clean)
This does not absolve anyone from cleaning up after themselves
Al motioned to vote on having a cleaning service, seconded by James and accepted unanimously by the membership in attendance.
Kurtis talked about Saskatoon Makerfaire
Next May
If you know of anyone that would like to attend, or have a cool project, talk to Kurtis
Kurtis is looking for everything… and is working on a list
If he can't find some of the things he is looking to display he might commission people into making them (possibly techworks members?)
Asking of Techworks to volunteer and make cool projects!
Next week Al is showing the space to another maker space and is looking for people to help clean up next tuesday
Saskatoon Public library is looking for volunteers to run workshops
