== Meeting minutes: August 08, 2017 ==  
  * Attendance: 8 members (Non Quorum)
  * Motion to accept meeting minutes from July  11, 2017 not possible due to non quorum. There are a couple corrections noted. 
  * New Members
    * No new members
    * John encourages current members to refer family and friends to Techworks and think of other ways we can attract new members
  * Finances
    * James didn't have finances updated for meeting
    * We were break even before rent increase and loss of member
  * Social events
    * 12 August 2017, 11AM, Techworks summer social, bring your own steak for sous vide and laser grilling, bring board games if you wish
    * 22 August 2017, Scott "Silicon - Three way" presentation
    * 26 September 2017, looking for presentation volunteer
    * 27-29 October 2017, Calgary Maker Faire
    * 28-29 October 2017, pet expo at Market Mall in old zellers building. Will be a table setup if anyone is interested. 
  * Acknowledgements
    * Albert for his presentation on battle bots
    * Mystery person for cleaning/organizing the dirty room 
  * Equipment maintenance schedule
    * Laser cutter currently experiencing ghosting and reduced cutting performance
      * re-alignment most likely required
      * when using the laser cutter make sure the head does not ram into objects
      * make sure head is up before turning on my machine (raise up when done as well) as the head can hit the honeycomb base during the startup homing procedure 
    * laser cutters need flow sensors
    * remember to clean up when done with equipment and/or the space
    * remember to put away tooling when done with and/or when changing ex. drill bills and keep parts of equipment with the equipment so they don't get misplaced/thrown out.
  * New Business
    * Front door - do not wedge open it will damage the hinges
    * Taylor volunteers to finish all the drywall
      * Feel free to help him
    * Making techworks more trendy - improve first impressions of the space
      * If anyone has any ideas for projects or improvements to the space, feel free to go ahead and do them
      * Permanent fixtures will need board approval, submit requests to thespace@sktechworks.ca
    * Storage issues
      * No storage of anything in the dirty room
      * If you need to longer term storage for projects we have space for rent on shelves and upstairs: $10/shelf or $10/15sqft per month.
      * Scrap bin is by back door for items that fit in it only, larger items are to be taken home or thrown out
